The SYSOP CLEAR command clears a node which may have crashed or been
corrupted. It does this by resetting the node to a state that resembles what
it was like before a user entered TOP on the node. To clear a node, use the
command as follows:
SYSOP CLEAR <node>
<node> is a node number from 1 to 32767.
IMPORTANT: NEVER USE THIS COMMAND WHILE A USER IS KNOWN TO BE ON THE NODE
BEING CLEARED! If this command is used while an actual user is on the node,
the user will be "disconnected" from the rest of TOP. They will not receive
text from other nodes, although they can send text of their own. It can almost
be thought of as disembodying the user. Although this may sound fun, it can
cause serious problems with the way TOP operates, and could lead to crashes.
This command is especially useful if Crash Protection is not being used.
